PROGRAM GOALS

2.     Have Fun & Teach Baseball - Improving baseball skills at all levels increase each player's confidence and enjoyment of the game.
3.     Life Lessons - Teach the ideals of sportsmanship, leadership, self esteem and respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, umpires and the game of baseball.
4.     Create Culture - Promote the game of baseball in a manner that encourages enthusiastic support from participants, students, parents, and the community.
PROGRAM "ROAD MAP"

This is a document that can be used to guide players, parents, coaches, community members, and the Husky Bullpen Club.  This map covers all levels of Owatonna Baseball beginning with the OHS Varsity Program through Little League.

The "Road Map" covers the following topics:  proper age/grade level, roster size, playing time, suggested tournament play, state tournament play, player costs, bullpen philosophy, program cornerstones, skill development, selection of coaches, player evaluations, and a policy review plan.

Policy Review Plan is to be used to reduce drastic changes throughout the program.  This will allow Owatonna Baseball to be consistent through each and every level of baseball.  This map will be updated annually to affect any change.  However, each level of play is placed in a two year plan that will allow for only subtle changes.

Example:  U-11A's

Policy:  Review will occur in the fall of 2008.  Subtle changes may occur if approved.  Program Policy includes the following steps:  1) Place and approve in specific  category (Red, Orange, or Yellow), 2) Once placed in correct category - research, poll, and interview for related information, 4) Report findings, and 5) Vote for approval or rejection.  Red:  Immediate action; Orange: Area of Concern: Area of Concern; and Yellow: Low Importance.
