2009 Capital Improvement Project

Owatonna has some of the best baseball facilities in the state, Manthey, Jaycee and Dartts Park are beautiful places to watch baseball games. As you know, these facilities did not just drop out of the sky… The Huskies Bullpen Club has partnered with the Owatonna Park and Rec dept. to make several improvements at these locations over the years.
Projects accomplished in the past few years include the following:
- batting cage at Jaycee Park
- batting cage at Dartts Park
- batting cage at OJHS
Our Capital Improvements Committee has decided that our 2009 project is to expand the Manthey batting cage into a 12 station hitting facility. This will allow for one entire team to use it to get their hitting drills and batting practice accomplished at the same time instead of having to rotate players into that area. Attached is a copy of the plans for this Hitting Facility.
Our fundraiser for 2009 is to sell Kwik Trip Pizza, Donut and Car Wash Coupons. We are excited about this fundraiser because these coupons can be used at any Kwik Trip location and have no expiration dates.
Each family will be asked to sell $100 of product, or we are offering a $50 buyout if you would rather not sell. Prizes will be awarded to the top seller in each age group and the top selling team.
June 8th – Pre-sale begins. Order forms will be handed out to coaches and parent reps for distribution to the players. Forms can also be printed off our webpage.
June 22nd – Order forms and payment must be turned in between 5 PM and 7 PM at the Dartts Park Pavilion. Please have a coach or parent rep drop off the order forms and payment during this time or call the number below to schedule a time.
