2019 EQUIPMENT Rules – Owatonna Baseball

1. Shoes

  • 9 - 12 year olds will use molded cleats or tennis shoes.
  • NO METAL SPIKES ALLOWED!
     
  • 13-15 year olds will be allowed to use metal spikes
  •  

2.  Bats - The following pertains to the legality of bats in the MBL

All ages – All bats must have the new USA stamp (unless using a -3 BBCOR bat or Wood bat)

*The USA stamp is required for all Tournaments and for “AA” teams playing in the MBL league.  The South Central League for our “A” teams does not require this.

9 - 13 year olds

  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:  2 1/4" or less with unlimited weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:  2 1/2" or less with minus 11 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:  2 5/8" or less with minus 11 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:  2 3/4" or less with minus 11 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:  2 5/8" or less with a minus 3 weight differential and be BBCOR approved.
  •  

14 year olds

  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:     2 5/8" or less
  • with minus 5 weight differential and the new USA Baseball stamp on the taper.
  • Maximum diameter at the thickest part:  2 5/8" or less
  • with a minus 3 weight differential and be BBCOR approved.
