Buying a Bat for your player - Things to consider

Are you considering the purchase of a new bat for you son for the upcoming season?  Below are few considerations you should make…
  • The Huskies Bullpen Club does provide some bats for each traveling team.  So, there is no obligation for you to provide your own bats.  It is completely up to you if you’d like to buy your player their own bat to use.
  • Most tournaments and leagues we play in will follow the rules listed below when it comes to bats.  Please use this as a reference when buying a bat for your player to be sure it meets regulations.
Bat Legality (As of 2023):
  • 9-11 year olds - Bats must be 2 ¼”, 2 ½”, 2 5/8”, or 2 ¾”  barrel diameter with unlimited weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.
  • 12-13 year olds-  Bats must be 2 ¼” barrel diameter with unlimited weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.  Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or 2 ¾”  with minus 10 or less weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.
  • 14 year olds – Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or 2 ¾” with minus 5 weight differential with and the USA or USSSA stamp.  Maximum Diameter: 2 5/8” with a minus 3 weight differential and the BBCOR stamp.
  • 15 year olds – Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or less with minus 3 weight differential and be BBCOR approved.
  • 14/15A year olds – May use either the 14 or 15 year old bat regulations.
Any age can use BBCOR stamped bats
9 – 15 year olds -  WOOD BATS ARE ALLOWED (Length - 36" or less
